We use sustainable materials, like recovered brass, and package our products in compostable materials so that you can feel good about the choices you make for your home. Our Initiatives<\/h2>\n

Recycling Programs<\/h3>\n

Iver has implemented extensive recycling programs across materials such as brass, steel, cardboard, plastics, organics, and electronics. These efforts contribute to a circular economy by ensuring valuable materials are reused and recycled rather than disposed of in landfills.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Renewable Energy<\/h3>\n

As of 2025, new solar panels on our Adelaide premises generate more than a third of the site\u2019s electricity needs\u2014 cutting around 17\u202ftonnes of CO<\/span>\u2082<\/span> emissions each year<\/span> and marking an important step in reducing reliance on traditional energy sources.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Electric Fleet Transition<\/h3>\n

Iver<\/span> is transitioning to a zero or low emissions vehicle fleet by the end of 2027, aligning our operations with broader environmental sustainability goals.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Responsible Packaging<\/h3>\n

Iver<\/span> is working to <\/span>eliminate<\/span> single-use plastics and non-recyclable materials from our packaging in line with our Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) commitments<\/span>. <\/span>Materials are<\/span> being designed out or replaced with compostable alternatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Compostable Mailers<\/h3>\n

In April 2025, we made the switch from <\/span>petroplastic<\/span> mailers to fully compostable mailers, helping to <\/span>eliminate<\/span> an estimated<\/span><\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/span>13,000<\/span><\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/span>plastic bags from landfill every year.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

To ensure they break down properly, please remove all labels before disposal. Once labels are removed, the compostable mailers can be placed directly into your council\u2019s organic waste (green) bin, where they<\/span>\u202f<\/span>will<\/span>\u202f<\/span>naturally decompose alongside food scraps and garden waste.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Compostable Pallet Wrap<\/h3>\n

In February 2025, we also eliminated plastic pallet wrap in our operations, replacing it with a fully compostable alternative, reducing waste by<\/span>\u202fapproximately <\/span>64,000 metres of plastic\u202fper year. Compostable pallet wrap can also be disposed of in the council organic waste (green) bin.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This change is part of our ongoing commitment to reducing single-use plastics and making our packaging more sustainable, as we continue our journey towards impact certification.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

APCO Certification <\/h3>\n

Since 2019, we\u2019ve been a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), achieving the highest performance rating of \u2018beyond best practice\u2019 in APCO\u2019s 2025 annual report. APCO set a target to make all packaging in Australia reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2030.\u202f\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>The 2030 targets are as follows:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • 70% of plastic packaging is recycled or composted.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • 50% of average recycled content included in packaging (revised from 30% in 2020).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • The phase-out of problematic and unnecessary single-use plastic packaging<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Help us do even better by disposing of your Iver packaging responsibly. Please consult your local council or authority to check domestic waste and recycling initiatives in your area.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

          Sustainable Materials<\/h3>\n

          At <\/span>Iver<\/span>, we take a meticulous approach to selecting materials, considering their elemental properties, manufacturing capabilities, texture, colour, hand-feel, and durability. <\/span>The majority of<\/span> our products are made from solid forged brass, a second-use material, which is infinitely recyclable and does not degrade over time, further reducing our environmental impact<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n\n
